2008 has brought about some change for Semper Fido.  After all the hard work, I lost my lease on the Dean Street location.  I was worried that I would not find a suitable space to hold classes.  As luck would have it, I've found a space in Park Slope just a couple of blocks from my house.  The size was similar to the Dean Street location and having windows will make it a much nicer space.  I moved into the new space at the end of January and have resumed classes in the new space.

On the agility front, there is lots of news.  First Whisper and I have been working hard dealing with some stress.  Our private instructor, Elise Lynch, has been out of town since December so we've had to come up with some alternatives.  I've started taking classes with Diane Goodspeed at Top Dog Obedience School in Flanders, NJ.  The classes are wonderful and Whisper and I are learning a ton from Diane, but we anxiously await Elise's return in March.  We have our first trial this weekend in Barto, PA.  I'm hoping for lots of sheltitude and to have fun at the trial.

More news about agility is that I have another dog to show this spring.  I will be handling a wonderful Cavalier King Charles Spaniel for his injured owner.  I showed him in December at an AKC show.  He's in Excellent B and I had never handled a dog in Excellent B before.  We did really well.  Considering I hadn't met the dog before I showed him, we did really well and I got him a Q in a very challenging jumpers with weaves run.

So basically, Whisper, Rigal and I are going to hit the agility circuit pretty hard this spring.  I'll be showing most weekends so I won't be teaching classes.  I'm pleased that Dot Rivera has agreed to take over on Saturdays for me.  She's a wonderful teacher and a great addition to Semper Fido.
