Whisper and I went to another AKC agility trial. It was Delaware County Kennel Club in Aston, PA. We were entered in Novice Jumpers with Weaves and Standard. Standard agility is the regular agility course with all the obstacles. This is the first time we've competed with all the obstacles.
Our standard run was first. I was very nervous. We had one refusal Whisper went around a jump. I couldn't figure out what happened until I watched the video. It was a panel jump which looks like a solid wall. She has never seen a jump like this before so she couldn't see me on the other side so she went around. But it was okay, I sent her back around and recovered. My other big bobble was a late send into the weaves so she was running past the weaves but once I called her back she flew into the weaves. Check out the
video section. Some kind on-looker agreed to tape our run. Unfortunately, the jumpers run wasn't taped.
Check out the photos of her in our standard run. Amazing. I just love the pictures of her weaving.

We had to wait around all day to do Jumpers with Weaves. I was less nervous since I have competed in Jumpers and her weaves are awesome so no worries. The course was a little tricky but I had a great plan and walked the course so much that I could actually plan where to put my feet. (I keep pulling her off jumps because my feet are pointed in the wrong direction.) Whisper was very excited and ran beautifully. She flew into the weaves and the run was so fast, I actually thought I missed some of the course. We had a clean run, 10 seconds under the Standard Course Time.
She got two fist place ribbons. I couldn't be more thrilled.
New Brunswick Kennel Club is next - Sunday, March 25 in Edison, NJ. Please come down and watch.
