When I adopted my dog, Fuzz, he had many fear-related behavior problems due to previous abuse. I
worked with and spoke to several other trainers, but only Dawn, as her website says, is “dog friendly” and
“people friendly.” She really understands that a dog trainer is training people how to train their dogs, and
therefore must work well with both species. Also, not all “positive” trainers have Dawn’s positive attitude—she
is able to see beyond Fuzz’s troubles to the sweet, goofy dog I love. In between our home training sessions,
Dawn is always willing to answer questions by e-mail, and recommend useful books by respected trainers
and behaviorists.
Though Fuzz has made progress, he and I still have a lot of work to do. It’s good to know Dawn is there to
offer further help and encouragement.
